Fit New Rear Brake Pads
23/02/2007
The rear pads were badly worn, so I got new pads, clips, shims and pins from my local Toyota dealer. I decided to buy all the accessories associated to the rear brake pads as the pins were badly corroded, the shims were crumbling like pieces of cardboard, and all the clips were missing. I purchased the following from my local Toyota dealer:
1. Two inner and two outer rear brake pads. These are ordered as a single "Rear Brake Pad" item.
2. Two fitting kits (these are the clips that go around the shims and into the pins). Each side comprises of one clip that fits into the holes of the pins, and two anti rattle springs (which is in fact just a clip). NOTE: These need to be ordered individually and are not part of a "kit".
3. Four anti squeal shims.
4. Four pad guide pins
(NB. Some pictures and part numbers will follow shortly)
