Remove Rear Bumper
Compared to the front bumper, removal of the rear bumper is a more involved task, as a number of plastic panels in the boot also need to be removed before it is possible to even start removing the rear bumper itself.
1. Open boot.
2. Remove boot floor carpet and base. This will reveal 2 plastic panels to the left and right of the boot.
3. Remove the 2 plastic panels. These are each held down with 2 x 10mm bolts.
4. Remove the plastic boot cover at the outside edge of the boot (nearest to you as you look in). This is held in with a series of screw rivets/poppers. Remove all of these. This is held in place further by a few clips underneath the panel itself, out of sight. The plastic panel can be removed by pulling it up towards you.
5. Open the plastic side doors that are just behind each rear light cluster. Look through and you may find that the bumper has a screw or bolt holding it in place here. Remove these.
6. Removing the plastic panel in step 4 will reveal a few 10mm bolts. You need to get your head inside the boot and look back towards you. These need to be removed with a 10mm socket.
7. All bolts should now be removed. The only thing left to do now is to disconnect the rear fog lights. To do this can be tricky and you may need to follow the fog light leads back up to the boot to find the wire so that the wire can be fed through further to create a bit more slack.
8. Gently prize the bumper away from each side, one side at a time, enough to get your hand inside to disconnect each fog light. These are undone by a quarter twist anti-clockwise.
9. Remove the bumper by pulling it gently towards you and down.
