Remove Instrument Dial Cluster (Speedo etc.)

1. Adjust the steering wheel height so it is at its lowest level. You have to do this in order to perform the next step.
2. Remove the black plastic cowl that goes around the cluster. This can be done by removing 2 screws and pulling away. You will need a short phillips screwdriver to remove the 2 screws that are located at the top of the surround on the bottom side.

3. Remove the dial cluster screws. 3 screws must be removed here, one on top right (above the speedo dial) and one on each bottom corner.

4. Place a cloth over the steering column plastics. This will avoid scratching during the removal process.
5. Disconnect the 2 ribbon cables behind the cluster. To do this you will need to pull the cluster out slightly and tilt towards you enough to get your hand around the back. It is easier if you also tilt it laterally, so that the right hand side of the cluster is nearest to you. Both cables are connected with a clip at the top of the connector joints. These clips need to be pressed down, and then pulled out. Do not pull by the wires!!
6. Open driver door. This will give you enough room to remove the cluster.
7. Tilt the cluster down being careful not to put too much pressure on the trip reset pin. Remove the cluster towards the driver door.
